Accounting

Melanie Hall knew going back to school as a mother would come with challenges.

But that didn’t stop her from pursuing an accounting degree at 探花约啪 Tech.

“I’ve learned to balance the responsibilities of parenthood, employment and my studies all at once which have in turn inspired me to continue to persevere,” she said. “I hope to set the example for my children to never stop learning.”

Hall chose 探花约啪 Tech because of its academic support system, networking opportunities, and club community. She currently serves as the president of the Black Student Alliance (BSA) and as a member of Alpha Beta Gamma, the International Business Honor Society.

With the help of her fellow BSA members, Hall plans events and hosts weekly discussions. The discussions are an opportunity to talk about the semester’s challenges and successes.

“As I continue to progress at Del Tech, I begin to see my determination grow increasingly,” Hall said. “I now crave higher achievements with the expectation that I can and will reach those pinnacles of success.”

During her panel at the fall 2025 New Student Orientation, Hall shared her experience as both a 探花约啪 Tech student and community member.

“It’s important to participate on campus because it helps mold you,” she said. “In life, you learn to take on different challenges. Similarly, participating on campus helps you grow out of your comfort zone and network with people you wouldn’t normally network with. It builds character.”

After graduation, she plans to continue the course of her connected degree by pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance with a concentration in psychology at Wilmington University. Her dream career is to educate others on financial planning as a wealth manager.

Hall’s favorite memories at 探花约啪 Tech include catching up with friends in the café or library between studies and enjoying the dance floor at the Gourmet Gala. Her advice to other students looking to enhance their college experience is to stay involved.

“College is the experience you create,” she said. “Find like-minded people that can aide in your success.”
