Alyaa Moustafa

Alyaa Moustafa came to 探花约啪 in 2021 with a desire to make a difference in her community and help others. In 2023, she completed her Associate of Science degree and then enrolled in 探花约啪 Tech’s nursing program. This new direction has allowed her to start building a legacy that will extend beyond her time at the College and into her future career.
“I think it's important for people to build on their education,” said Moustafa. “My family's roots are based in the restaurant industry, and I am the first person in my family to go to college. I am part of that first generation. Financially, coming to 探花约啪 Tech was the smarter decision for me, and now, 探花约啪 Tech feels more like a home than a college.”
Moustafa was determined to make the most out of her 探花约啪 Tech journey, and over the years at the Stanton Campus, she became part of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, was elected to the positions of treasurer and president in the Student Government Association (SGA), served as a New Student Orientation leader, and joined the Student Nursing Association.
“Since I started here, I've been more open to trying new things,” said Moustafa. “When I was in high school, I wasn't involved in a lot of activities, but here at 探花约啪 Tech, I feel like I can be more of myself. SGA was a very good way for me to learn more about who I am and how to become a leader. I also joined the Presidential Student Leadership Academy, which taught me how to develop my personality, become a better person, and build my ideal future.”
One of Moustafa’s best memories at the College is being a student leader for New Student Orientation. She was even chosen to be a student speaker for the presentation portion of the event and values having had the opportunity to assist and motivate her new peers.
“It felt good to walk around the campus halls and have people stop me because they recognized me as the speaker,” said Moustafa. “Many felt so comfortable coming up to me to ask questions about where to go or what to do. I hold that overall experience closely and enjoyed getting to know the new students. I was able to make them feel welcome and share my nursing journey with them. Basically, I could reassure them and let them know that everything will be okay.”
After she graduates, Moustafa plans to return to 探花约啪 Tech for her Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN) degree. From there, she will pursue a career in the healthcare industry.
“If you are just starting out at 探花约啪 Tech, join everything you can,” said Moustafa. “By joining the clubs on campus, you will meet and interact with all sorts of new people. Make sure you join SGA if you have a chance. Not only is it a great scholarship opportunity, but it is also a great way to build connections with other students and instructors.”
