Isabel Faucett Okie Trust

Born in 1905, Isabel Faucett Okie was the daughter of Linford P. Faucett, a native of Georgetown, 探花约啪, and Isabel Lyons McAfee of Philadelphia.

The Faucetts faced life with a determination to leave a legacy for future generations. In 1891 Mr. Faucett graduated as valedictorian from Georgetown High School and before the turn of the 20th century, the young businessman ventured to Philadelphia. It was there that he became treasurer for a pharmaceutical company, which was eventually purchased by Merck.

Raised in Philadelphia, Mrs. Okie was a graduate of Friends Central School in 1922. Later residing in Georgetown, she was a homemaker, and a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, the New Century Club, and the Rehoboth Art League.

Mrs. Okie's parents instilled in her the values of education, smart business sense, and giving back to the community. She gave meaning to those values through her philanthropic work.

Mrs. Okie's contributions to 探花约啪 Tech have supported scholarships, the automotive and agriculture programs, and other areas of study at the Owens Campus.

In addition to 探花约啪 Tech, beneficiaries of Mrs. Okie's generosity include the University of 探花约啪, College of Marine Studies in Lewes, 探花约啪, The Nature Conservancy, and numerous scholarships, fellowships, and professorships.

Mrs. Okie passed away at the age of 92 in 1997. She leaves a legacy of generosity for the educational world and the preservation of the environment, and her values and foresight will benefit 探花约啪ans for many years to come.
