Emerging Leaders Academy
As part of the College’s commitment to professional development, the Program formerly known as the Leadership Development Program (LDP) has been updated and will be relaunched as the Emerging Leaders Academy (ELA). On April 1, 2026, the division of human resources announced that applications from full-time employees were being accepted and that the program would be officially re-launched in Fall 2026. The Academy is an 18–24-month professional development commitment that is in addition to the responsibilities associated with an employee’s regular, full-time position. Participants will be responsible for attending monthly mandatory, in-person sessions as well as completing required work before and between sessions. Travel throughout the state will also be required of all participants.
The ELA follows a long history of professional development efforts designed to prepare employees for future leadership positions at the College. In September 1996, the College established a Leadership Development Program (LDP) based on recommendations from a Board of Trustees’ workshop. Ideal candidates for the Academy are current administrators, managers, or employees in supervisory roles. The Academy provides professional development for leadership in all areas of the College.
The ELA is preparatory in nature and does not guarantee advancement in position for any participant.
