探花约啪 Tech Women’s Volleyball Closes 2024 Season with Region Tournament Berth

After an impressive 2024 season, the 探花约啪 Tech women’s volleyball team earned a spot as the second seed in the NJCAA Region 19 Division II Women’s Volleyball Championship Tournament.

While 探花约啪 Tech lost in the opening round of the Nov. 2 tournament, the season provided many high notes. The team finished with an 11-10 record, and sophomore Megan Carroll was selected to the All-Tournament team for the Region 19 Championship tournament.

“This season has been an incredible journey of growth and development for our team, with each player stepping up and pushing their limits both on and off the court,” said Assistant Coach Erin Carney. “I am so proud of this group of young women and we will miss our sophomores Amy, Megan, Jasmyne, and Jazzlyn greatly!”

Carroll, an outside hitter, was also named Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (EPAC) Player of the Week early in the season. She led the team in kills (215) this season and led the conference in kills per set. Overall, she recorded a total of 376 career kills during her time at 探花约啪 Tech.

Sophomores Jazzlyn Maloney, Amy Rash, and Jasmyne Escobar served as solid leaders to the largely freshmen squad after several second-year players graduated following the 2023 season. All three players were a dominant force in 探花约啪 Tech’s offensive and defensive game.

Several freshmen stood out this season. Elizabeth Baughman and Samantha Grunza played a major role on offense, while Alyssa Diem led the team in assists (586). And freshman libero Sydney Lewis excelled on defense with a total of 461 receptions and 299 digs during her debut season at 探花约啪 Tech.

With several freshman players expected to return for a second season in 2025, the coaching staff will look to build upon what they started this year.

“Reflecting on our progress and the exciting strides we've made,” said Carney, “we're motivated and full of positivity as we set our sights on building our team for 2025.”
