Softball Holds Sophomore Day Ceremony

Six student-athletes on 探花约啪’s softball team were acknowledged during a Sophomore Day ceremony on April 19 prior to a home double-header at the Jack F. Owens Campus in Georgetown. Inclement weather caused the event to be moved inside to the gym, but the change in venue didn’t dampen the celebratory mood.

Carrying a bouquet of flowers, players were escorted into the gym by family and friends while their favorite memories and future plans were shared with those in attendance. Each player was also given a personalized poster presented by College Vice President and Owens Campus Director Dr. Bobbi Barends.

Players honored were Kiersten Anderson, Madison Fox, Maggie Hubbard, Gabrielle Pepper, Cheyenne Silves, and Brooke Widdoes.

Following the ceremony, the team swept County College of Morris, winning two five-inning games by scores of 17-1 and 17-0.
