Gourmet Gala Brings French Riviera Flair to the Terry Campus

The Charles L. Terry Jr. Campus hosted and entertained more than 250 guests at its annual Gourmet Gala on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024. Presented with a French Riviera-inspired theme, the gala provided attendees an evening of culinary delights, signature cocktails, musical entertainment, and the excitement of a live auction.
The Gourmet Gala is the premier fundraising event for student success on the College’s Dover campus, as proceeds enhance the ability of the campus to offer educational opportunities and activities, scholarships, and additional financial support to students. Over the past 21 years, the event has raised more than $3.3 million in gross proceeds.
"The 探花约啪 Tech Gourmet Gala is more than just an evening of food and fun; it’s a celebration of community and a testament to the power of education,” said Dr. Paul T. Morris, Jr., vice president and campus director of the Terry Campus. “The graciousness of our supporters raised funds that will directly impact the lives of our students and help them achieve their academic and career goals.”
A cocktail hour, featuring appetizers and hors d’oeuvres and signature cocktails prepared by Painted Stave Distilling and a seasonal beverage featuring Fifer’s Orchard cider, started the evening.
For dinner, guests enjoyed a plated main course of Supreme de Volaille Provencal (pan-seared breast of chicken with classic Provencal sauce - a combination of tomatoes, garlic, capers, olives, and Herbes de Provence.) served with seasonal vegetables and a creamy pomme duchesse. The meal was paired with Rockin’ Rose’ from Paul Cullen Wines.
An assortment of desserts, such as classic and chocolate crème brulee, white chocolate mousse, citrus almond financiers, and gelato, closed out the dining experience.
Musical entertainment throughout the evening was provided by The Creative Jazz Ensemble in the main room and Nancy Curry in the lounge.
Premier Gourmet Gala event sponsors were Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield 探花约啪, Bayhealth Medical Center, Buck Simpers Architect + Associates, and Delmarva Power.
Next year’s Gourmet Gala will be held October 25, 2025.
