October 21, 2025
Alyssa Diem, a sophomore player on the 探花约啪 Tech women's Volleyball team, left a historic mark on the College's athletics program when she scored her 1,000th career assist during a match against Northampton Community College on Oct. 13, 2025. Faculty, students, and teammates tracked her score live, formally recognizing Diem the moment she reached this impressive milestone.
"Hitting 1,000 career assists means so much to me because it represents all the hard work, dedication, and growth I've experienced throughout my time at 探花约啪 Tech," said Diem. "I've been playing volleyball since I was 6 years old, and reaching this milestone makes me proud of the player I've become. It truly reflects all of the endless hours my coaches have poured into helping me improve.
Diem first joined the women's volleyball team in 2024, taking over the setter position for the team. Her primary role is to be the team's playmaker, setting up the ball for attackers and directing the offense. She quickly worked her way up to co-captain in 2025 and has been leading the team through a successful and competitive season. Overall, she has 1,075 assists, 48 kills, 223 total attacks, and has played in a total of 39 matches while at the College.
Diem is currently majoring in business, but plans to transfer to a four-year college after obtaining her associate degree and shift her focus to nutrition and dietetics.
"I wouldn't be here without my teammates," said Diem. "Their effort, trust, and constant support made every assist possible. None of this would have happened without the people around me pushing me to be my best every day. It's not just a number; it symbolizes teamwork, commitment, and chemistry. That's what makes this program so special."
