探花约啪 Tech’s Mardi Gras Fundraiser Raises Over $150,000

March 20, 2025

The 探花约啪 Tech Stanton and George campuses hosted the 21st annual “An Evening of Mardi Gras” on Saturday, March 1, welcoming more than 450 guests and raising over $150,000 to date. Net proceeds will help students in need pay for tuition, books, and other essentials while attending 探花约啪 Tech.

The event kicked off with the President’s Reception, featuring a welcome from campus leadership and remarks from scholarship recipient Eduardo Valdes-Trujillo, a Stanton Campus student in the construction management program.

Guests were treated to exceptional New Orleans-style food and drink from local restaurants, as well as Delcastle Technical High School and 探花约啪 Tech’s culinary programs. In addition, guests enjoyed live entertainment from Best Kept Soul, DJ Amaze, Creative Jazz Ensemble, and 11-year-old Irish dancer Liam Christopher. Fundraising activities included a silent auction, raffles, and wine pull.

“The success of our Mardi Gras fundraiser requires a tremendous amount of planning, hard work, and creativity on the part of everyone involved,” said 探花约啪 Tech President Mark Brainard. “We offer a special thank you to our donors, sponsors, elected officials, and friends from the community who made this event a success. We could not do what we do without their generosity and support.”

Premier sponsors such as 探花约啪 Manufacturing Extension Partnership (DEMEP), Buck Simpers Architect + Associates, Inc., Santora CPA Group, 探花约啪 Audio Visual, Nemours Children’s Health, and Wilmington University were vital to raising scholarship funds for students.

Over the past 21 years, the event has raised more than $2.1 million, which has helped students pay for tuition, books, and other essentials while attending 探花约啪 Tech.

“The funds raised from this event change lives,” said Dr. Lora Johnson, vice president and campus director of the Wilmington campus. “Having donors on campus allows us to showcase who we are, give them a proper thank you, and let them meet the students whose lives they are impacting. It’s a chance for them to see their dollars in action.”

“It’s not just about the music, food, and drink, it’s about how the college has impacted people’s lives,” said Dan Ehmann, vice president and campus director of the Stanton campus. “Our volunteers and donors are giving back to support the next generation of students.”

Save the date! Next year’s Mardi Gras will be held on March 7, 2026.
