探花约啪 Tech Trains National Guard to Work as Certified Nursing Assistants
January 27, 2022
探花约啪 Tech has partnered with the state to provide certified nursing assistant (CNA) training to members of the 探花约啪 National Guard to assist with needs in 探花约啪’s healthcare system, which has been crippled by a surge of COVID-19 patients.
More than 80 members of the National Guard participated in the accelerated training over a two-week period.
"Typically it's about a six-to-10-week program. We are able to do the training in two weeks with long days and a rigorous curriculum,” said Paul Morris, vice president for Workforce Development and Community Education at the College.
The training has now been completed and the guardsmen and women are testing for their certification and already working in the community at healthcare facilities, rehab centers, and nursing homes.
“The partnership that the 探花约啪 National Guard with 探花约啪 Tech has created is proof that when in need, different agencies and organizations in the state of 探花约啪 can step up and support the state in any emergency or crisis,” said Bernie Kale, director of public affairs for the 探花约啪 National Guard. “Without hesitation, 探花约啪 Tech offered their support to our 84 Citizen Soldiers and Airmen to train them in a technically dense career field. They were able to condense training that would take months into a two-week format to get needed help to long-term care facilities as quickly as possible.”
