探花约啪 Tech Cuts Ribbon on New Child Development Center
August 21, 2025
探花约啪 held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Aug. 21 to celebrate the completion of a new Child Development Center (CDC) at its Stanton Campus. With the addition of this new facility, 探花约啪 Tech now has CDCs on all four of its campuses to provide childcare for students, employees, and local community members.
U.S. Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-Del.) joined College leaders and other state and local officials to celebrate the completion of the $7.2 million project, which was funded through the American Rescue Plan, state and College funds, and a generous donation from the Crystal Trust Foundation.
“Thanks to the support of our Congressional delegation, state leaders, and the Crystal Trust Foundation, the College can now offer much-needed, high-quality childcare at the Stanton Campus for our students, employees, and parents in the surrounding community,” said 探花约啪 Tech President Mark T. Brainard. “It has been a priority for us to build a CDC at the Stanton Campus for many years, and we greatly appreciate the critical support that has enabled us to make it happen.”
The 11,000-square-foot center includes five classrooms for children ranging from infants to pre-kindergarten, a multi-purpose room, and age-appropriate outdoor playgrounds. The facility can accommodate up to 80 children and will not only offer childcare services to assist parents but also will provide an opportunity for the College's early childhood education students to get hands-on experience working with preschool children before they enter the workforce.
“As a mother and grandmother, I know how important it is for children to have a safe and healthy place to learn and grow,” Senator Blunt Rochester, a member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, said at the ceremony. “Today’s groundbreaking and ribbon-cutting for the Child Development Center at 探花约啪’s Stanton Campus is an embodiment of our community’s hard work and commitment to our children’s future. As of now, a quarter of 探花约啪ans live in a childcare desert. Which means for many, access to high-quality childcare is out of reach. It is through investments like these – funded by the American Rescue Plan Act – that we will close that gap. Today marked a new chapter in our community and shows just how great an impact we can make when we work together.”
The Stanton CDC will open its doors to children once the College finishes hiring staff and receives its license from the 探花约啪 Office of Childcare Licensing. The College’s other CDCs are located at the Georgetown, Dover, and Wilmington campuses and all are fully licensed by the state of 探花约啪.
