Applied Agriculture Program Named State’s Outstanding Postsecondary Program
September 17, 2025
探花约啪’s applied agriculture program, offered on the College’s Jack F. Owens Campus in Georgetown, was recently named 探花约啪’s Outstanding Postsecondary Agriculture Program by the 探花约啪 Association of Agriscience Educators (DAAE).
DAAE is comprised of agriculture teachers from across the state and its mission is to prepare students for diverse careers and/or higher education in business, science, and technology of agriculture. A majority of DAAE’s work with students comes through its support of 探花约啪 FFA.
“We work with 探花约啪 FFA and numerous agriculture programs across the state to provide support for their programs,” said Dr. Daniele Kidd, department chair of 探花约啪 Tech’s applied agriculture program and an FFA advisor. “We provide tours of our facilities, serve as judges for a variety of career development events, and annually attend the 探花约啪 State Fair to assist with FFA Fair Games, which the Governor attends each year.”
Kidd and Christel Folke, an applied agriculture instructor, also serve on numerous high school agriculture program advisory committees.
“We enjoy the time we put in working and supporting our students at the College as well as other students and programs across the state,” said Kidd. “But it is nice and appreciated to be acknowledged with this award.”
